The rate card, in full
This is the whole of it. There is no second sheet with different numbers on it for people who did not ask, and there is no price that depends on the car outside or the postcode. What changes the bill is the hour of the day and how long the work takes.
We do not quote for work we have not seen. If someone gives you a fixed price for a blocked drain over the phone, they are pricing the easy version of it and they will re-price on your doorstep.
How a job is priced
Call-out, which covers the first half hour on site including diagnosis. Then by the half hour, rounded to the half hour, at the band the work is actually done in — not the band you rang in.
If a night job runs into the morning, the morning half hours are charged at the weekday rate. That is the arithmetic going the way that suits you, and it is deliberate.
Labour
| When | Hours | Call-out | Each half hour after | Two-hander, each half hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekday | 08:00—18:00 | £78 | £39 | £66 |
| Weekday evening | 18:00—22:00 | £112 | £52 | £88 |
| Night | 22:00—08:00 | £164 | £68 | £116 |
| Saturday | 08:00—18:00 | £112 | £52 | £88 |
| Sunday and bank holidays | any | £164 | £68 | £116 |
A two-hander is two of us on site. It is not an upsell: lifting a cast iron stack, or working in a chamber deeper than 1.2 m, is a two-person job under our own method statement and we will not do it single-handed.
Drainage
| Rodding, up to 1 hour | included in call-out |
| Drain jetting, up to 2 hours | £240 |
| Drain jetting, each hour after | £96 |
| CCTV drain survey, with written report | £190 |
| CCTV survey on the same visit as a jet | £120 |
| Levels along the run, recorded | included with a survey |
| Excavate and re-lay, per metre, to 900 mm deep | £210 |
| Each further 300 mm of depth, per metre | £74 |
| New inspection chamber, 450 mm | £340 |
| Patch liner, one metre, no dig | £420 |
| Reinstate concrete or slabs | at cost + 15% |
| Reinstate tarmac | by the surfacing firm, at cost |
Every re-laid length goes back in at 1 in 40 unless the invert levels at both ends make that impossible, in which case we write the fall we could achieve on the invoice and tell you what it means. A drain re-laid flat is a drain you will ring someone about again.

| Parts | trade price + 15% |
| Trade invoice, on request | free |
| Parking, congestion, permits | at cost, receipted |
| Waste removal | included |
| Skip, where one is needed | at cost |

| Second visit to finish our own work | free |
What you pay when it goes wrong
If we cannot fix it
You pay the call-out and nothing else, and we write down what we found and what it needs, so the next trade does not start from scratch and charge you for it.
If we cannot get to it
If the chamber is under a conservatory floor, or the stopcock is in a flat nobody answers the door of, you pay the call-out. We will tell you on the phone if we think that is likely.
If we made it worse
We come back and put it right at our cost. Public liability cover is £2m and the certificate goes out with every invoice.
If you cancel
Nothing, if the van has not left. Half the call-out if it has.
Rates last changed 1 April 2026. They are held for the calendar year; if we quote you a price in writing it stands for ninety days whatever happens to this page.
